We stayed last week for 3 nights at this lovely appartment. It was exactly as discribed. It is incredible clean and well equiped, located within walking distance from almost all historic sites in Pest. Tomas was so lovely and helped us out not just with our luggage but with local knowledge too!!!!! The Goulash-soup at the For Sale Pub was great!!!!!! Thanks a lot and we will definetly come back one day to beautiful Budapest.

We stayed in the Golden Stars Dream Apartment from May 24-28, 2010. This apartment is in a wonderful location, at the south end of Vaci Utca, close to the Central Market and tram and subway stops. It is a short walk from Raday Utca, a street filled with cafes that are much more reasonably priced than those on Vaci Utca. It is also only a block away from the Danube.
The fourth floor apartment is lovely and quiet. The rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of room for us and another couple. It had all the amenities we needed, including a washing machine, wireless internet and telephone with unlimited calling to Canada and the US. Tomas even had English language channels programmed into the TV remote. The kitchen was well equipped for our use.
There is an elevator in the building. Riding it was an adventure, especially for someone who lives in a Canadian city that is probably younger than the elevator!
We asked Tomas to arrange transfers for us and they worked very well. There is nothing as comforting as getting off an airplane in a new country and seeing someone holding your name up on a card. It was one less thing for us to worry about on our busy itinerary.
Tomas was very attentive and spent a lot of time showing us around the apartment and explaining how to use the equipment. He also gave us recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing.
We loved the apartment, we loved Budapest and we need to go back and stay longer.

We were pleasantly surprised by the apartment. Originally, we thought that perhaps it would be a bit cramped for a family of four, but we found that this was not the case, because of the arrangement of the rooms and the high ceilings.

The location is very good - close to the metro and walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Tomas, the owner, was very helpful. Everything works really well in the apartment too. The internet connection signal is strong, the free phonecalls to the US were an added benefit.

Moreover, the price was very reasonable too, given its location.

We just concluded our five country European vacation with a stay at the Golden Star Royal Apartment. It was one of our favorite apartments. The apartment has a lift to easily get to the apartment on the third floor. The apartment has a view down the coblestone streets from the balcony. The apartment was wonderfully decorated and spacious with it's high ceilings.
The apartment is a block away from the Central Cafe.
Central Market Hall is only a ten minute walk and offers unique and delicious baked good, fresh milks and cheeses, fruits and vegetable stands. The apartment was perfectly located in the heart of the city, but was still quiet enough for peaceful night sleeps. The apartment offers phone and internet service. Overall, we had a great experience. If we return to Budaptest, we would not hesitate to stay at the Golden Stars Royal Apartment again.

Highly recommended! My husband and I (from Australia) stayed here for four nights based on its excellent reviews and it certainly met our expectations. Tomas was there to greet us after we made our way easily from the main train station (all the directions are provided on Tomas' website) and he showed us around the apartment and how to work everything. It's a lovely studio apartment, with a handy kitchen and very clean bathroom with a washing machine. The location is perfect - in a safe area that's located close to everything.

We recently spent 4 nights at ROYAL and it was one of our favourite stops. The children still talk about Budapest and how fantastic everything was and can't wait to return. Tomas was a fantastic host and we would highly recommend his apartment to family and friends. Location was fantastic, it was possible to walk to so many places of interest. Transport, Vaci utca, shops restaurants and the Grand Market are all within easy reach of the apartment. Tomas, the whole family thanks you for such a wonderful time in Budapest. Just came back from the trip to Budapest. We stayed at Golden Stars Royal Apartment from March 15th to 21st and we were very pleased. Due to the problem with the Air Portugal’s flight, we arrived the Budapest airport 33 hours late! Since the flight will be arriving at 11pm and we had never been to Budapest, I called Tomas (the owner) while I was waiting for the connecting flight at Frankfult to re-arrange the airport pickup. After we walked out the custom area, we found the driver holding a sign with my name on it. When we got there at the apartment around midnight, Tomas was standing outside the building waiting for us! He was very understanding and agreed to extend our stay for 1 more day. He also gave us a lot of valuable information and advice on things to do in Budapest.
The location of the apartment is the best. It’s close to Metro station, supermarket, banks and the famous Vaci Utca. It’s also very close to the Great Market Hall where we went everyday to pick up fruits and pastries. (And the “For Sale Pub” is just across the street from the Market Hall.) The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. It had everything you can think of: Coffee maker, kettle, washing machine, LCD TV, WIFI, Voip phone, mobile phone, …etc. The weather was quite cold in mid-March, but the apartment was very warm.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Budapest.

We (2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed in the Golden Stars Dream Apartment for 6 nights in January 2010 and found it to be a delightful apartment - one of the best during our 7 weeks in Europe! Dealing with Tomas by email was very easy. We arranged to use the transport option to and from the airport which was convenient as we arrived at night. The apartment location was great (just across from the market makes it easy for fresh supplies, as does a nearby 24 hour supermarket), close to transport and in a very quiet building. The apartment is newly renovated, well equipped, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Tomas was great in suggesting restaurants, thermal baths, sightseeing options etc.
We loved the apartment and would definately stay there again!!

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Budapest. What a beautiful city! Our appartment was superb - comfortable, immaculately clean and well equipped, in a peaceful yet central location. The website photos give a true representation of just how lovely this appartment is. We could nip over to the market hall each morning for fresh croissants and fruit, or could be strolling alongside the Danube within a few minutes. Tomas is extremely helpful and welcoming. We have no hesitation in recommending this appartment and would love to return one day!

We stayed for one week in the Golden Stars Dream apartment. We had a wonderful time. Budapest is a great city to visit and the apartment is really perfect.

The location on Vaci Street is perfect. Vaci St is the main tourist pedestrians-only street in Pest. The building is located at the beginning of the street close to the wonderful old market hall. It’s easily accessible by car. Very close to Danube river. Very close to Gellert Baths located on the other side of the river.

Apartment is very comfortable, recently renovated, spotless clean 2 bedrooms, leaving room, kitchen with eating area, nice size bathroom with a washing machine. It is facing a courtyard and therefore it is very quiet. The kitchen eating area gets some morning sun. The rest of the windows are facing west making the apartment full of light in the afternoons.

Tomas arranged an airport shuttle and was waiting for us outside the building. He arranged another shuttle for the departure day.

All in all, a perfect stay and a perfect apartment. Thanks Tomas.

I can strongly recommend Golden Star DREAM Budapest Apartment. It is clean and spacious for 2 -4 friends, 2 couples or a family of 4. It's location is central, which makes it convenient to commute and enjoy the Danube by feet. Although located on Vaci Utca - the cobblestone street, it is quiet at night, so getting a good night rest is not impossible.

Tomas, the owner, is a wonderful, warm person. Just ask and he'll try to make your stay in Budapest an event to remember!

We had an amazing time in the Golden Stars Royal apartment during January 2009. Tomas is a perfect host and he made sure that we were comfortable at all times. He even went out of his way to accomodate our requests in the last minute.
The apartment is in a very nice and safe location, close to anything you may need during your stay, and it is bigger than what it looks like in the pictures. The furniture has been carefully chosen , and the high ceilings give an incredible sense of space.
This apartment is just ideal for a couple, but can accomodate more guests. It has plenty of sunlight, it's quiet and in a rather posh area. The heating was working fine, and there is air conditioning for warmer times during the year. There are supermarkets (and the great market) nearby, and transport is available right at the door, with frequent metro, trams and buses.
You have to discuss the availability of the cell phone and internet in advance, so that the owner has the time to set it up.

Summarizing, as long as the size is the one you need, look no further. Otherwise, Tomas has some other apartments that I am sure will delight you.

The apartment is close to a very nice part of town, and within walking distance of many places.
The public transport is cheap and easy to use once you get used to it.

We stayed in Golden Stars Royal apartment at November 2008. Having Tomas as our host was wonderful! He was very helpful, provided maps, suggested best local restaurants, pubs etc. At our departure day he arranged us a shuttle back to the airport.

The apartment itself was great, equipped with WIFI and phone. Very clean, very cozy with comfortable bed. The apartment was incredibly peaceful at night. There is a private balcony facing to the small semi-pedestrian street. The building is beautiful with full of history. The entrance gate is georgious! 5-6 years with my family using apartments, but this one was the BEST!

The location just perfect. Being that close to the metro enabled us to quickly stop by 'home' and drop our stuff, take a rest and go on with our sightseeing. Very convenient. There is a mini market right next to the apartment, they sell fresh eggs, cheese, all the freshest dairy you can think of. There is also a bakery shop and vine shop and quite a few number of great cafes and restaurants within a 1 minute walk.

All in all we had great time and definitely will come back! SW.

At first I inquired about the Golden Stars Deluxe Apartment but it was full. So this review is about Golden Stars Royal Apartment owned by the same owner, Tomas.

Length of stay: 3 nights.

Location: good. Metro and Central Market are not too far to walk.
Tomas was friendly. We had no problem asking for an internet connection although we forgot to ask for it in advance.

Apartment was clean. Bathroom equipped with a tub and washing machine. Kitchen was not too big but adequate for our stay. Apartment was also equipped with a small balcony.

We had a very comfortable 10 days stay here in late October - early November. The apartment is clean and fresh with high ceilings and aesthetically furnished by Ikea. The location next to the no 2 tram terminus is very handy. But the real unique selling propositions are the attention to detail and the genuine kindness of the owner, Tomas. We really felt at home.

I think this place is wonderfull! I owned an appartment in the house on the main floor (fö emelet). With a little bit phantasie you can imagine what a nice building it was before the war. The front of the house was built for noble families. On the 2nd floor lived a count. His appartment was more then 600 m2! And it was very elegant.
From that point you can reach every corner of Budapest very easy.

We stayed in the Dream apartment in early October 2008. The apartment is in a great location - we particularly liked being close to the huge market, the undergrounds and the river.

The apartment has been renovated to a high standard and has everything that you could possibly need for a short/medium stay. We didn't need to sue teh airconditioning, but I'm sure it would be handy in summer.

Tomas was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We hope to stay at this apartment again when we next visit Budapest.

We (2 adults and 2 children) stayed at Tomas’ apartment on Vaci Street for three nights on July 2008, and liked every minute of it. The apartment is spacious, modernly equipped, spotlessly clean and pleasant to stay in. The building itself has its own character, with its high ceiling and an internal patio. One can smell Hungarian food being cooked as you take the elevator up to the apartment. Staying there gave us an opportunity to experience Budapest in a different and a unique way, much better than staying in a hotel.
While our stay it was very hot in Budapest. What saved the days (and the nights) was the powerful yet quiet and modern air-condition

Vaci Street is located in one of the most central and elegant areas of Budapest. One can simply go down the elevator and find numerous restaurants, shops and beautiful old buildings. The Metro line is a couple of minutes walk as well as the Market hall and a 24 hours grocery store. The cheapest rate exchange counters in Budapest is figuratively right next to the building door.

Tomas, the owner of the apartment is welcoming, helpful and has a lot of patience answering all kinds of questions. Parking is expensive and difficult to find. As we happened to get to Budapest by car, Tomas arranged for us to park at parking lot only 10 minute walk from the apartment, and for only 10 Euros a day. On our departure Tomas helped us carry our luggage to the car and arranged with us the final payment for the parking.

The apartment is highly recommended!

We have just spent 10 days staying at the Golden Stars Dream apartment and I would have to say it was absolutely perfect. Our young family (my wife and two young daughters) loved it.

The apartment is brilliant offering all the conveniences necessary to have a true "Budapest Experience". I must say that the air-conditioning was a god send to return to each day as the temperatures soared to 36 degrees (95+ F) during the week we stayed.

There's a great little ice cream store down stairs and each evening we would go down and by supper/desert after our long days of sight-seeing. By the end of our stay they knew us by name and taste/flavour which the girls took great delight to.

Tomas the apartment owner was great and was always there to help. I cannot recommend his highly enough.

If you are starting to get sick of that same old hotel lobby, same old hotel suite, same old hotel 'internationalised food', same old hotel smell - then try an apartment (like Tomas' for a true local experience).

We stayed in the Golden Stars Dream Apartment from the 10-15th of September.After travelling around Hungary for 9 days and spending 4 days in 2 other places in Budapest, this was the best accommodation we had...spotlessly clean, comfortable,modern, safe and fully equipped. It was one block from the Danube, a stone's throw from the large covered market and close to public transit. Located on the main shopping and pedestrian street, Vaci Utca, it was in the best location but quiet because it faced the inner courtyard.
We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and hope to return ourselves.

In our arrived at the bottom of the building, we were pleasantly surprised with the situation really near to Vaci Utca, to the city center and its animations, and tourists places, simply the perfect place. We were four and the apartment was really spacious, comfortable with beautifully decorated, and in more a balcony we recommend it to everybody.
Tomas our hote reserved us a very good reception, he's a very nice personn and always available. We keep a very good souvenir of him and the apartment, and Budapest is really an extraordinary city. We stayed at the Golden Stars Dream Apartment in Budapest August 11-14, 2008. I have to say it was one of my best travel experiences. The apartment was everthing it stated to be and more. My husband and I, my parents and my two young daughters all stayed there and felt comfortable and secure. The apartment was very clean, with all modern furniture and appliances. The kitchen was very well equipped and a necessity when travelling with young children. I can't say enough about Tomas, how friendly, helpful and accomodating he was. I would recommend this apartment to anyone fortunate enough to visit Budapest and stay in this wonderful apartment within walking distance to all that Budapest has to offer. I would not consider any other accomodation on my next trip to Budapest.

We are an Australian couple who traveled around Europe for 7 weeks, the Golden Stars Dream Apartment was one of the best apartments we stayed at. It was a very comfortable, spacious, spotless apartment with new furniture and comfortable bed, we really appreciated having our own washing machine and being able to cook our own meals. It was situated in the lovely street Vaci Utca, with a great market just a short walk from the apartment.. We could walk to a lot of the sights.

Thomas was great answering any query and letting us stay in the apartment until our train left in the late afternoon, he arranged the taxi and helped us with our luggage. The wireless internet was great.

An elegant historic property, with balconies and high ceilings, immaculately maintained and full of character. The location is central, one block from the Vaci Utca and the promenade on the river, with other tourist sites in easy walking distance. Tomas was a gentleman, meeting us on our arrival, providing us with a cell phone to monitor our stay, and arranging a taxi for our departure, which he held while we finished packing. We could not have asked for more, given the quite reasonable price, and look forward to staying at the Royal on our next visit to Budapest.

I attended a conference in Budapest and my husband accompanied me. Although I had several offers of hotels from the conference’s organizers, we decided to rent the Golden Star Royal Apartment on the Iràny utca 21. We were extremely pleased with our choice.

I read the previous reviews, and I can say that we experienced the same satisfaction with Tomas, who is a genuinely nice, elegant, and well-mannered person. He met us at the airport and drove us to the apartment, and at the end of our stay, arranged for the most reasonable taxi back to the airport. When we sent him a text message because we had a question, he responded within five minutes.

The apartment is quite large and very comfortable. The apartment’s location is excellent. There is a CBA market and two 24/7 delicatessens across the street from the apartment. The apartment is one block from Váci Utca and about 5 minutes from a metro station. There are also several restaurants very close by.

We spent 7 nights in Budapest and were at the end of our three weeks in Eastern Europe, so I was glad to use the clothes washer once for light clothing. The apartment has air conditioning which reduced the humidity we felt on a couple of afternoons. Tomas’ tips and advice were valuable and saved us money. For example, we used only cash (HUF) and exchanged money only at ATMs, which gave us the best rate for our dollars. Renting this apartment gave us the opportunity to experience the Hungarian culture like buying fresh vegetables, eggs, and cold cuts from the Central Market, a 15-minute walk from the apartment. For sightseeing tours by bus, we highly recommend Hop-On Hop-Off city tour with the red bus that included a one-hour cruise on the Danube.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in the Royal apartment, on Iranyi Street. Previous reviews have praised this apartment and its owner, Tomas. We wholeheartedly agree, and rather than repeat the same comments, would like to add the following story. Tomas is friendly and helpful, ready and willing to help us with any travel questions we had. More importantly, he went beyond the call of duty for us, taking us to his family doctor when I became unwell. He stayed with us during that entire process - making the appointment for us, translating during the consultation, right through to helping us fill our prescription at a pharmacy. This process took several hours and would have been daunting for us as visitors in a foreign country. Having to then rest in bed for a couple of days, the apartment provided a generous, cheerful and comfortable space in which to be. A great apartment and a host dedicated to the well being of his guests! We cannot recommend this apartment highly enough & we will certainly stay here again on a future visit.

Wonderful in every way from start to finish. The apartment was comfortable, spacious, spotless, in a safe area, and incredibly convenient to everything. We could walk to the Grand Market Hall and to the subway, tram,and bus stops, as well as to bridges across the Danube, in 5-10 minutes, and we were just 15 minutes on foot from the Gellert Thermal Baths and Buda Hills.

Owner/host Thomas was warm and helpful - even called to warn us of an impending transit strike and to recommend that we stock up on groceries in case stores were closed. It was so nice to be met at the airport, and to get reliable recommendations for restaurants and places of interest.

Make sure to request wireless internet when you book, because Thomas needs to bring the box with him. We hadn't realized we needed to request the service ahead of time, and he very kindly made a special trip home to bring it back to us.

It was wonderful having a full kitchen, including an electric coffee maker and tea kettle. Having a washer right in the apt. was very convenient, too.

We want to return to Budapest, and when we do will most definitely stay here again; it's absolutely the best accommodation possible!

Myself and husband were very lucky to have stayed in this wonderful apartment. It was all it has been described. Very clean and spacious. Ideally located for sight seeing and just steps away from the central market(great if you wish to cater for yourself) The furnishings are all new and I must say the most comfortable beds I have experienced. we felt safe and secure during our stay and the neighbours are very quiet.
Tomas the landlord was more than helpful and was always available if required for advise.

Just back from Budapest. Tomas met us as arranged, waiting for us in the apartment. Well equipped kitchen & bathroom with a spacious living/ bedroom. We stayed at 21 Iranyi Utca and it was a grat central location - walking distance to pretty much everything.
We would recommend this without hesitation to everybody. King size bed and a double sofa bed in the living/bedroom - so depending how friendly you are you could even sleep 4 - excellent value for £55 a night which is what we paid.

Stayed at Tomas`s beautiful apartment with my dad who is 73 in may 2008 for 5 nights,his new apartment is situated right in the centre of one of the most famous shopping areas in budapest, vaci utca, the only transport you will need is to and from the airport at the cost of approx 18 eu each way, the apartment overlooks a courtyard, and even tho it is in the middle of everything, the only thing you can here in the morning is the birds singing, situated on the 4th floor from the street,the apartment has a lift, which is shared between the locals living in the same building, it is very spacious and airy, the bedroom i slept in was enormous with more storage space than i have in my own home, it is immaculatley clean,and also have plenty of clean,fresh towels, one place that is interesting to visit is the local under covered market,turn left from the apartment and go to the end of the road,cross over the road and you are there,it is only 2 minutes walk from the apartment, the danube is also only a 5 minute walk away as are all the tourist attractions, Tomas was the perfect host to rent an apartment from, and i cant praise him and his property enough, i wont hesitate to contact him if i was ever visiting budapset, i can recommend this to anyone,

We stayed in the apt on Vaci Utca, located one block from the Danube, the Central Market Hall and all kinds of public transport.
Almost all historic sites in Pest were within walking distance.
The light and airy apt faces a rear courtyard so that it was extremely quiet and private, not to mention spotlessly clean.
The gracious Tomas is communicative and helpful. If you book with him you won't have to worry about what to expect - you can be sure it will be a postive and pleasant experience.

What a fabulous apartment! After a rather hairy taxi journey from the airport, my boyfriend and I arrived to find the lovely & relaxed Tomas waiting outside to greet us and show us the apartment which, without doubt exceeded our expectations. The royal apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated and had everything we could of needed for our stay. Its location allows for you to walk everywhere, with shops, supermarkets, cafes & bars all near-by. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend others to stay there.

Very good location and very nice/helpful owner. We stayed from 1 March 08 to 4 March 08 at Golden Deluxe Apartment. 5 min walk from subway and Parliament, 2 min walk from tram station (tram line 2 and tram line circle).
The flat has been completely refurnished and is very modern, nice and clean. Only 60 euros per night!!!

My friend and I recently spent a week at the Golden Stars Royal Apartment in Budapest. The apartment is in a great central location – and is very spacious and well furnished. We especially enjoyed our leisurely mornings having breakfast there. The indoor market is minutes away so you can buy fresh eggs, cheeses, meats and wonderful pastries. We chose this apartment after reading all of the positive reviews about Tomas and he lived up to every one of them. He was very helpful corresponding with us prior to the trip and gave us many helpful suggestions when we arrived. I would highly recommend this apartment and especially Tomas - a most gracious host in a most gracious city.

So, what can we write if everyone else already has mentioned everything of importance ;-) ? We only can confirm all those positive comments from all over the world. We stayed for 4 nights and everything was great. The appartment is very spacious, well furnished and equipped. Tomas is a very nice guy and help whereever he can. So thanks for the pleasant stay !

I stayed at the Golden Stars Royal Apt. for 4 nights with my wife and my 7 month old daughter, and had a fantastic time. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, due to it's great location and wonderful decor. Thank-you Thomas for a wonderful stay.

My husband and I have just spent a wonderful week at Golden Stars ROYAL Budapest Apartment. It was like a home away from home, right in the heart of this fascinating city. The apartment is perfectly located for museums, restaurants, public transport etc and is exceptionally well furnished with all the appliances and information a guest might need. Having been out of touch with friends and family for some weeks, the internet connection included in the tariff was a blessing! The apartment was spotless on our arrival and it seemed as if our every possible requirement had already been imagined and provided. Thank you, Tomas, for this memorable week in Budapest. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Even on the warm days it stayed comfortable in the apartment. The apartment is in a very good location with easy access to everything we wanted to see and do. Tomas was so very helpful in answering our many questions. If we had a question he was just a phone call away. He took care of ordering a cab for us and showed up the day of our departure to make sure the cab was there. Budapest is a great city to visit and having a comfortable place to come back to after being out and about all day was wonderful. Thanks again, Tomas.

My friend and I just recently returned from a visit to Europe, we spent five days in Budapest. While there we stayed at the Golden Stars Royal Apartment. This was a great choice, it is centrally located and the apartment itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Tomas is an excellent host and was extremely helpful to us during our stay there and prior to our visit while making arrangements for the trip. Budapest was great and the apartment made our stay there even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Golden Stars Royal Apartment. Also, if you have a chance eat at "Bor La Bor" just down the street from the apartment (Veres Palne 7), it has fantastic food with a great wine cellar atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable.

We've visited Budapest for the first time and the apartment we've chosen was a very good choice! It was nice, very clean and comfortable for the whole week! The pictures you find on the website are really up-to-date! We certainly recommend Golden Stars ROYAL Apartment! And it is perfectly located: so close to all the attractions and other places you like to visit! Around the building there are enough little shops, so if you need something for your breakfast/lunch/dinner, just cross the street. Whereas our favorite was the Chocolatery around the corner ;o) Thanks for the time here!

Everything has already been said about the apartment. But I will say it again - it was delightful! Beth (my wife) and I had a wonderful first-time in Budapest. Our experience was greatly enhanced because of the apartment and of course Tomas. It was a stone throw away from the metro and Vaci Utca. The river, Chain Bridge, and many other attractions can also be walked to (which we did) . On our last day Tomas even walked us to the corner to get on the right bus going to Keleti station to catch the train. There is no second thought for us when we make another trip to Budapest, will definitely be staying at the Golden Stars ROYAL.

Having Tomas meet us after a long flight in the wonderful apartment he designed was better than going to any hotel in Budapest. We felt at home right away. He'd thought of everything - stocking the kitchen with coffee, jam, bread, tea so that we didn't have to go to the market right away. His hospitality and friendliness meant so much. We had graet days at Golden Stars ROYAL and would certainly recommend it. It is very nice, clean and comfortable and has everything we needed. The location is super and very close to everywhere, especially being close to Old Market Hall was very convinient. Tomas is extremely friendly and helpful. My 7 years old son Can liked Budapest and Golden Stars Apartment very much and he still talks about it. We would definitely come back and stay there again.

This apartment is secure, clean, and comfortable. It is located in central Budapest, not further than a 5 minutes walk from excellent shopping, transportation connections, and the river! Located in a pre-war building with an elevator, the apartment has been updated while maintaining its older appeal. The apartment was very clean, the linens were newer and the kitchen and bathroom extremely modern. Most of the furnishings were from IKEA and were very updated and fresh. The building is quiet and secure, though the unit itself is street-side with a balcony, but it's not very noisy. Don't hesitate to book this apartment...one of the best deals around!

We stayed only three days in the Golden Stars ROYAL Apartment. It was cold outside and windy but always warm in our nice apartment. Everything was ok and went smooth. Tomas is a very nice person, can give you many hints for your visit in Budapest. He picks you up at the airport and can arrange a transfer back to the airport.Shopping street is very near, also metro station, museum, restaurants etc. Next time we stay there again and will recommend it to friends and travelers. Both me & my Husband Stayed in this Apartment in August and had the most wonderful experience. The apartment is perfect, stylishly decorated and most beautifully kept. Tomas is a great host and even left us a bottle of wine to celebrate our arrival. I cannot recommend this apartment enough !!

We spent one week in Budapest Oct 2006. Tomas' apartment has a great location, is very comfortable and it is spotless! We will come back to Budapest for sure and will stay at Tomas' apartment again.

Of our 18 day trip through Eastern Europe, this apartment was one of the best places we stayed at. Not only was it in a very convenient location (steps from Vaci Uta pedestrian shopping/eating area and also a 5 minute walk to the Grand Market Hall) it was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The apartment had high ceilings which made the place feel huge, french doors opening to a balcony facing the street and a vintage elevator. It also had a modern kitchen and bathroom with a washer. Most importantly, the bed was very comfortable and the
building was quiet. After a long trip from the states, it helped us overcome our jet lag.

The owner (Tomas) was such a perfect host. Despite our late arrival, our lost luggage and inabliity to use a local phone to contact him, he waited for over an hour to greet us at the apartment. He also assisted us whenever we needed help or had any questions. In fact, he helped us get our luggage back. He even
helped us with transportation to our next apartment stay. My impression was that this was not strictly a business transaction with him. He truly was a kind and helpful person and wanted us
to have a pleasant stay while we were in his country. What a wonderful ambassador for his country.

I looked at lots of hotels beforehand, and for the cost, this apartment far exceeds them in value and quality. And with Tomas there to help you get settled, what more could one ask? I hope that when I return to Budapest in the future that Tomas will
still be renting this place out. It is definitly worth a return trip!

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Budapest. All the recommended sights are right on - especially the night cruise on the Danube....so I won't go into all that.

However, I must comment on the wonderful apartment that we rented for 3 nights from Tomas, the owner of Golden Stars Royal. He has a very informative web site about the GS.
He responded very promptly to our e-mail inquiries. After confirming our reservations, he gave us excellent directions from the train station to the apt. - by bus. He met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked. It has a charmingly old world living/sleeping room with French doors onto a small balcony, but with a modern kitchen and bathroom - perfect. Tomas is an artist and has several pieces of his work hung around theapartment. When we were there the weather was quite warm, but if you open all the windows, you get a nice breeze through the apartment.
Both kitchen and bath are a decent size. Kitchen has a cook top w/ oven, seating/dining area, sink and frig. The bath does not have an enclosed shower but is a tub. However it has a hand-held shower head so it is easy to use as a shower if desired. There is a washing machine in the bathroom which supposedly was a dryer as well.

The living/sleeping area (all in one large high-ceilinged room) has an L-shaped sofa and a separate futon that can be made into beds. There is a large king/queen sized bed separated by a thin curtain for semi-privacy. There is a tv with DVD player.
The apartment has a lift up to the 2nd level so no lugging heavy bags ups several flights. The building is well secured and very central to all the main attractions of Budapest. There is a small supermarket across the street from the entrance as well as a small 24 hour market. The tram, bus, and metro area all only about a 3-4 minute stroll down the street. We bought a 3 day pass that was good for all of Budapest's transportation systems.
I hope that we will be able to return to Budapest before we have to move back to the US. I will definitely stay at the Golden Stars again. It was the highlight of our trip.

This August our entire family (6 people) visited Hungry, as well as the neighbouring countries. We were very impressed by the beauty of Budapest, and we were especially pleased by the apartment we stayed at - Golden Stars ROYAL apartment managed by Tomas, the nicest person you can meet in Budapest. He was so helpful, and the apartment was immaculate, in the nicest location and very comfortable. We followed Tomas's tips and visited a few places, and immensly enjoyed the restaurant he gave us discount coupon for - Korolye Palaty (spelling), where they had live jazz music and gourmet food. He recommended us also were to stay in Lake Balaton and what to see, and we felt as if we were leaving an old friend when it was time to say good bye. This apartment was only a block from Vatsi Utca, the famous walking street in Budapest, and everything was at a hand's reach and convenient. Very clean, very friendly, very convenient... Thanks very much Tomas, because of you and the apartment, our trip was unforgettable.

We have just got back from four magical days in budapest, staying at this brilliant apartment. The place is fantastic, and Tomas is a very good host who can tell you places to visit. Its location is fantastic, in a beautiful old building with an icecream shop at the bottom. Convenient! Honestly, look no further, this is the place to go.

We are often in Budapest and we tryed lot of apartments, but this is the BEST one! We was so impressed when we first time entered into the apartment! The Living Room with at least 4 meter high decorated ceilings (never saw like this before!), great interior design with an original paintings, comfortable king size bed, full kitchen, nice bathroom etc, etc...
Every morning we enjoyed our coffe on the balcony. The view and the feeling reminded me Barcelona!
On the oposite side of the street there are a good supermarket with an excellent hungarian wines. Generaly everything what you need you have at your hands...
Next year our trip to Budapest we will planning on availability of the Golden Stars Apartment.

Me and my boyfriend have literally just come back from staying at the Golden Stars and we LOVED it soooo much!! It is in a beautiful old building and like everybody says, it has a very homely feel to it and beautifully furnished. It even has candles you can use and a dvd player!! We even made arrangements with Tomas to come and collect us from the airport for a small fee which was great.
It is so reasonable price-wise that when me and my boyfriend were being shown around, we wondered if we had the right place or had been mistaken for other people!
We definitely want to stay here again as the apartment made the trip for us even more special. It was so nice to come home and relax in after a hard days sightseeing before dinner!

Had to write to recommend the Golden Stars ROYAL Apartment. Its situated in the best location in Budapest, central to absolutely everything. Its location means your no more than 3 minutes walk from everything, convenience stores, metro, danube. The apartment itself was stylish, spacious and modern but without losing its traditional charms. It was immaculatly kept and the owner was a real star ! prompt and helpful. We even got a bottle of wine on our arrival. It was simply the best accomdodation ever and a stunning city to stay in. The apartment was certainly the highlight of my holiday.

With my wife we spent there a wonderful week. I was really impressed of this apartment, its a real DIAMOND in the downtown of Budapest! The owners exactly knows how to make an excellent and cosy interior with a full of comfort. Even in hotel you cannot get that much!:) It was not expensive for a big apartment with completly central location! So, its 100 times worth it to compare with a nearest hotels. The owners was very kind and helpful. For our first enquiry they respond us within an hour! All necessary arrangements we made so fast and comfortable!

My wife and I stayed at Golden Stars DeLuxe for five nights between Feb 24 and Feb 29, 2008. It was outstanding value for money in every way. Access via an apt block courtyard was by three flights of stairs or a lift. The three rooms were safe, secure, well equipped, impeccably clean and comfortable. Tomas could not have been more helpful in his advice to us as first-time visitors to Budapest.

But the greatest advantage of this apt is the location, a few yards from the banks of the Danube, close to the Parliament Building, Margeret Island and, on the doorstep, the starting point for the most scenic transport link in the city -- the No 2 tram which runs along the Pest bank of the river.

It was like having a flat adjacent to the Palace of Westminster on the Thames in London, at a fraction of the cost.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We have just returned from 4 days in this lovely apartment.its location is perfect, just a walk to the danube and all transport, the apartment is in a lovely old building with lots of character and has been decorated really well and has all home comforts the owner tomas is also very helpful and always available if needed. I would highly recommend, another advantage is that the area is quite at night and there is also a very nice bar next door.

Over the past ten years I have stayed in many apartments in Budapest, but none so cheerful, well-equipped, clean, and comfortable as this. It's a treasure, and Tomas is a thoughtful, considerate host.

I stayed at the Golden Stars Deluxe Apartment for two weeks in January of 2008 (Jan 20th-31st) and had an amazing experience. The price was right, the apartment was well-equiped, and the location could not have been any better! Also, the owner Tomas met me upon arrival, and checked in on me throughout my stay to make sure everything was going smoothly, and to ask if I had any questions/concerns. He was extremely helpful. I would recommend this apartment to anyone coming to Budapest to visit, and I would certainly rent again if I found myself back in Budapest in the future.

This apartment was the perfect place for two middle-aged lovers to make sure that they "will always have the Romantic Heart of Budapest." The location and neighborhood could not be BETTER!

Just stayed earlier this month. The apartment is an excellent value. It was very clean, and the building is quiet & secure. The location is perfect for tourists--we walked to nearly every site. The washing machine worked fine & made our lives easier. We prepared breakfast daily in the small but well-stocked kitchen--this saved money & allowed us to relax & slowly wake up each morning.

We have just spent one week staying at the Golden Stars deluxe apartment. We have visited Budapest many times and this apartment was the best quality we experienced. Tomas was an attentative, energetic host, leaving nothing unturned to ensure that our enjoyment during our stay in Budapest was maximised. I stayed in DELUXE Apartment for one week in February. Not only was the location absolutely stellar, but the apartment was beautifully renovated and served all of our needs. Tomas made every effort to ensure that we felt at home. All in all a most enjoyable experience! I would recommend his properties to anyone with an eye on comfort, value, and relaxation.

We booked for five days in January 2007. The apartment itself is great, right in Central/Downtown Pest (the shopping and business side) and well located in a very safe area just off the wonderful Parliament Building. The trams, trains and buses are just steps away. The apartment is just what it looks like on their website, descriptions and photos which is good considering sometimes things don't look like they do on the web! It's on the second floor of a beautiful old building, good security and locks etc polished floorboards, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with also a washer. There is no street noise considering you are in the middle of downtown and the whole stay for us was excellent.
Tomas the host is lovely, he anwers all your questions and is only a phone call away if you need anything. The apartment is very worthwhile even if you don't think you want to cook etc (which we didn't) but it's nice to have the space and feel of being at home. We shopped for snacks and drinks etc at the grocery store on the corner and felt really at home there. All in all a great place.

Our vacation in Budapest began with our stay in this apartment. It was a wonderful experience to live in such a
beautiful, charming place at the beginning of our journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Budapest and part of the unique experience was staying in this lovely apartment.
The decor was perfect merging the original period with modern furnishings and colors. There were all sorts of amentities available - washer/dryer, iron, etc. As well it was centrally located to both the tram line and metro station. The owner provided us with great information to enhance our stay while in Budapest. It was comfortable, safe and felt very welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay in the Golden Stars DELUXE Apartment. This apartment is in the perfect location and offers great accessibility to all of Budapest. The amenities are comfortable and Tomas is a honest and most pleasurable person to deal with. He really does provide everything you need to be comfortable. We really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the amenities and the location. Highly recommended for 2-3 persons.

We are travelling a lot and allways staying in the apartments. This apt. was one of the BEST where we stayed! Very central and confortable at convenient price.
On arrival we had a bottle of excellent 'TOKAJI' wine (was nice from the owner after our long travelling), was provided a cell phone with a local number (we saved a lot on incomming roaming calls), also was provided restaurant discount cards, maps, event calendars, washing powder etc. etc...

Golden Stars Deluxe Apartment was GREAT with a really excellent location! Its location means you no more than few minutes walk from everything, convenience stores, Danube, Vaci Utca etc. Definitely next spring we will stay here again. Cozy and tasty interior was certainly the highlight of our holiday.

Also I must mention our touch with the apartments owner from first inquiry to booking process. Before taking an apt. we asked him several questions and gladly made for us suggestions what to do in Budapest. So far he made us direction maps! He response us so fast, within few minutes!
