General hours for food stores and shopping centers are Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm and Saturday from 7am to 2pm, with some of the major shopping centers also open on Sunday.
Department stores are open weekdays 10am-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm.
Commercial bank hours are Monday through Thursday 8am-2pm, Friday 8am-1pm. Branches of OTP, the nation’s largest bank, are open Monday through Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-1pm. All banks close on weekends.
Most museums close on Monday but are open 10am-6pm every other day. The last admission is 30 minutes prior to closing.
Post offices are usually open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, Saturday from 8am to noon. A couple of offices near the Budapest train stations are open Monday through Saturday 7am-9pm. The one next to Nyugati Rail Station also is open Sunday 8am-8pm.
